"Clean" Channel - Bridge pickup

"Lead" Channel - Bridge pickup

Controls

Lead - dedicated "Lead" volume level. The higher it is turned up, the more it will "saturate" like an actual tube amp.

Clean - dedicated "Clean" volume level. The higher it is turned up, the more it will "saturate" like an actual tube amp.

Tone - often confused as a tone control, the "Cut" control restricts itself to only discriminating against unwanted treble frequencies, leaving your much needed hi-mids intact.

Hot/Cool - switch between two different "Lead" channel temperments.

Mids/Flat - switch between a relatively neutral frequency response, or a more "mid-forward" voice.

An amp in a box? Think simpler...

Imagine it's 1940 - the electric guitar is about to take the world by storm, and for the sake of argument, let's just pretend that the ultra-linear, front-of-house PA systems we have today, already exist. Les Paul's "The Log" lays the building blocks for a new, and unheard of, electric guitar with it's magnetic pickups...

Now if you're a guitar player, you've probably at some point or another plugged "straight in" with your electric guitar into a PA, powered-speaker, or an interface, etc. and found that the sound that follows is among the most unmusical sounds you've ever created... it lacks compression, overtones & harmonics, creamy highs, punchy lows - all the things we've grown used-to when we hear an electric guitar. And in recent years, we've seen an explosion of new products in the form of amp simulators, modelers, software plugins - all reverse engineered to mimic the amplifiers that have proven to provide the electric guitar all the things that it lacks.

The key to what gives the electric guitar it's mojo, however, is not derived from the mystical design of the amplifiers of yesteryear, but actually from the limitations and somewhat "imperfect" method in which the vacuum tube itself operates.

The Alchemist is a groundbreaking pedal that delivers the familiar tube-amp sound via an actual vacuum tube, but without the need for all the things that are mistakingly thought to provide the attributes of a good tube-amp.  Two channels come standard, in which the boost channel delivers the perfect "edge of breakup" response to allow that solo to sit right in the mix where it should. To top it off, a unique "Tone" control allows the player to precisely dial in the guitar's "crunch" without sacrificing clarity.

We're confident the M1 Alchemist will meet the needs of any gigging or studio musician who has an affinity for the all-tube sound.

It is recommended to employ an external speaker cab sim in conjunction with

The Alchemist!
